Comparison between an RSSI- and an MCPD-Based BLE Indoor Localization System

IPS is a crucial technology that enables medical staff and hospital management to accurately locate track persons or assets inside buildings. Among other technologies, readily available BLE can be exploited achieve an energy-efficient low-cost solution. This work presents the design, implementation comparison of RSSI-based MCPD-based indoor localization system. The based on lightweight wkNN algorithm processes RSSI MCPD distance data from connection-less Beacons. designed hardware firmware are implemented around state-of-the-art SoC for BLE, nRF5340 Nordic Semiconductor. Experimental evaluation with real-time processing has been evaluated presented in 7.3 m × 8.9 room furniture six beacon nodes. experimental results randomly chosen validation points within show average error only 0.50 approach, whereas approach achieved 1.39 m.
